Order of Orange-Nassau

Created on 4 April 1892, the Order of Orange-Nassau is conferred on people who have made a contribution of outstanding value to the community. Examples include volunteers working with young people or refugees, or involved in environmental conservation, informal care, neighbourhood associations or sports clubs.

The Order is also awarded to people for outstanding achievements in their work, surpassing those of others in their field and exceeding what would normally be expected of someone in their particular job.

There are six classes in the Order of Orange-Nassau

The Order’s decoration carries the motto ‘Je maintriendrai', or ‘I will maintain’. This is alsothe motto of the Kingdom om The Netherlands.
